General Dynamics SERF

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems expanded their OP-1 facility on Plastics Ave in Pittsfield with the 13,500 square foot construction of the Shipboard Electronics Repair Facility, a fast track project completed in a 180 day time frame.

As a stand-alone building built inside of the OP-1 facility, SERF was designed with a structural steel roof complete with an insulated membrane roofing system, metal stud and masonry block walls, full thermal envelope, and independent HVAC and electrical systems to maintain complete environmental control.

Allegrone Construction Company was awarded the project through competitive bid. Allegrone maintained strict adherence to General Dynamics security requirements on a daily basis, constant communication with the General Dynamics staff throughout construction, completed all required documentation timely and accurately, and completed a high quality product one month ahead of schedule.
