Facebook’s New Green Roof

Facebook’s huge addition to their headquarters in Menlo Park California is complete with a full-on green roof. However this green roof is no ordinary green roof. Designed by starchitect Frank Gehry, it is more park-like (spanning some 400,000 square feet), complete with oak trees, walking trail and café kiosks.

Per Mark Zuckerberg’s wishes, the building has been designed to blend into its surroundings, omitting the flourishes Gehry is known for. Instead the focus is on, the building being functional and anonymous, and sustainable.
