Allegrone Co. Joins Way Finders in Opening New Affordable Housing in Ludlow

July 18, 2025

This week, our team joins Way Finders and Dietz & Company Architects in celebration of the completion of Greenstead Grove apartment development in Ludlow. This project adds 43 affordable apartments to the region, marking a meaningful step toward easing the housing crisis.

The development prioritizes accessibility and inclusivity. Six units are designed for residents with sensory or mobility impairments, and all apartments include utilities in the rent. With 2,000 applicants vying for a spot, the demand highlights the critical shortage of affordable housing.

Greenstead Grove offers more than just shelter—it provides stability. Families earning 30% or less of the area’s median income will occupy 16 units, while 27 units are reserved for those earning up to 60%. Amenities like on-site laundry, a community room, and 24/7 maintenance support help foster a safe and supportive living environment.

Local leaders praised the project for strengthening Ludlow’s community fabric and offering housing options without age restrictions. As part of a broader strategy, Greenstead Grove exemplifies how targeted development can make a tangible impact on the state’s housing challenges.
