YMCA Chimney Corners

Completion of the Chimney Corners dining hall and office building on schedule was critical to the operation of the camp. When the previous dining hall was lost in a fire, Chimney Corners selected Allegrone to manage the fast-track construction of the new facility required for the summer season.

In order to achieve this schedule, the Allegrone team focused its talent and capabilities on expediting the start of the project. Subcontract bids were secured for critical segments of the work prior to the availability of construction drawings and ongoing constructability reviews and value engineering was performed as building plans were continuously refined to avoid preconstruction bottlenecks.

The client’s decision to bring Allegrone on board as Construction Manager early in the planning stages allowed for early release of the site work package and the structural steel order, items that would have delayed the schedule considerably had they been postponed until design finalization
