For nearly two centuries, the property has been home to the socially prominent. It provides a glimpse of estate life and the world of the elite social status during the Gilded Age.
Allegrone will protect and preserve the foundation walls that show signs of failure related to age and moisture infiltration. The project scope includes the removal and repair of historically significant windows to prevent further interior deterioration. In completing these repairs, the public will regain access to several rooms which have been off limits for many years. In addition, the entire exterior masonry limestone structure will be washed and cleaned to match its original stature. Structural masonry elements will be removed, repaired, structurally upgraded and reinstalled. Through careful planning and preparation, this exterior envelope rehabilitation project will reinvigorate this historically significant estate.
