Steeple Removed From Hamilton College Chapel

May 12, 2021

Yesterday, our team successfully removed the steeple off Hamilton College’s iconic three-story, 1827 chapel. Major renovation of the steeple of the historic building, and the most efficient approach is to remove the top 35 feet to do the work on the ground.

The Chapel is one of the first buildings constructed on Hamilton's campus. The unique structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an example of a rare, three-story church. As part of the steeple restoration, the Chapel will receive a new slate roof, and the masonry tower, clock, bell, dome, and quill weather vane will be fixed as well.
