The Production and Performing Arts Center is the cornerstone of Shakespeare & Company's capital improvement initiative. To keep pace with their plan to create a great classical theater company that interacts closely with its local community and attracts visitors from around the world, Shakespeare needed a building that could provide production support facilities as well as public performance spaces together under one roof.

Allegrone Construction was selected for its proven ability to bring projects with tight schedule requirements in on time and within budget. Shakespeare & Company had already licensed performances for the venue for fixed dates early in the summer, leaving only six months to complete the renovation of the 60,000 sq ft athletic facility into a multi-purpose performing arts center with intimate performance spaces, scene and costume shops and hospitality services. Managing construction crews as large as 75 working six day weeks, Allegrone kept the job on schedule, turning over the Production and Performing Arts Center in time for Shakespeare & Company's summer season.
