Water Savings & Toilet Use

February 2, 2011

According to BuildingGreen.com, toilet flushing accounts for up to 40% of residential water use, and is also the largest use of water in most commercial buildings. Replacing your current toilet, that most likely uses atleast 1.6 gallons per flush, for a product that is more eco-friendly, could contribute to a very significant water savings.

Dual-flush toilets are becoming more popular in the U.S. and use atleast 20% less water than the federal minimum of 1.6 gpf. These dual-flush toilets are used in all of Allegrone Home Builders' new homes that are LEED Registered.

Check out BuildingGreen.com for more detailed information on these dual-flush toilets and the significant water savings that they contribute to.
